With only a few home football games left, today my friends and I threw the sickest tailgate yet. 40+ people chipped in for some awesome Cajun food prepped by personal chef, Joe Daigle of Anyplace Cajun Cuisine. He prepared a delicious 3 course Cajun lunch, just like his family has been making for generations down on the Bayou. Add in some beautiful sunshine, fun games, a few pups, and some beer, and you end up with a perfect day. Well, it was perfect until the end of the football game, but what can you do?

I came home, took a nap, and am now watching some Warren Miller. My dad is keeping an eye out for new skiis for me. In the works is a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah for a little time in the powder. I hope it comes together. I miss my friend Jenny! If it doesn't, I might try CO in the spring. It is supposed to flurry here on Monday and I CAN'T WAIT!

Yes I am a big nerd. Please write the Commissioner of Baseball and ask him to not allow balloon releases in the future at Major League Baseball events:

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball
Allan H. (Bud) Selig, Commissioner

My sea turtle list serv posted that the Rockies did a ballon release at Game 3. Shame on them!

Saturday night we went on a pub crawl called the "Tour of Terror." There was no cover and free shuttles all over downtown Lansing. I went to 6 of 12 bars on the crawl. We hit a few new spots which was pretty cool. Hopefully, I can remember which ones I liked. I love my friends here because they all take the dressing up very seriously. A few created their own costumes, and some (like me) bought their's. (In my defense, I added a few touches after doing a bunch of bunny research).

My first committee meeting was Monday. I think it went well. My advisor had all sorts of nice things to say about me. My project had a recent set back though. Last week, we found out the plan we had for id'ing the turtles will not work due to coloratino patterns changing. BUMMER! We brainstormed a few new ideas that I have to test out. The committe gave me the ok to shoot for defending in May. Yikes! Now I really need to get my butt in gear. Courtney and Lisa will both be far far away in the spring completing their internships, so I should be able to stay on track. That is, unless it is a wicked winter and I spend all my time at the slopes. :) Let's keep our fingers crossed that May is it and I can get a real job!

well, this is a little late but.........

HOLY CRAP! THE RED SOX WON THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!

Yes they SWEPT the Rockies and won on Sunday night. If my paper had been finished on time, I would have liked to paint the MSU Rock, but I had forgot about our plan until the 5th inning. Hopefully I will find a reason to paint the rock before I graduate MSU.

Life is good when you see the Sox win 2 World Series in your lifetime.

I would like to add that I have a sort-of McSteamy crush on Mike Lowell. I don't know why. I usually like younger guys, but let's just say, I really hope they re-sign him.
