One of my best friends, Krishna, had her bridal shower and bachelorette the weekend after Las Vegas. Her events were in Rochester so I hauled my cookies to upstate. The shower was given by her cousin at her cousin's house. It was very nice with great weather and some gorgeous ladies.

That evening, a bunch of Krishna's friends headed to Applebee's for dinner and out for a night on the town. We stopped at Murphy's Law for a quick drink and then to ONE for a night of dancing. Originally, we wanted to go to roller skating, but unfortunately, the rink wasn't open. Booo!!

Of course I forgot my camera, but am able to borrow photos from Allison.

Krishna is my soul dancing twin, which always leads good time. Even though I was the DD, I had a blast! I should explain that as a naughty game, people had to bring a pair of panties for Krishna. She picked the sexiest, the ones she thought Dave would like, and the ones she would actually wear. The last person to arrive bought her ginormous granny panties which made appearances throughout the evening.

I had so much fun with these girls. Krishna is a lucky lady.

My roommate from college, Sarah, used to live in Las Vegas. She worked out there for a few years in tv news. She has been back on the East Coast for a while and decided to have her bachelorette party in Las Vegas, where the sun always shines and the money grows on trees. She dated her now-husband 8 years before they wed. I love them both and could not possibly turn down a trip to Vegas. It was my third time visiting the city and it never lets me down.

All together there were 9 girls- a bunch I went to college with and also Sarah's friends from home. We all knew each other from random gatherings over the years. It ended up being a low-key weekend (are we getting old?) filled with laughter, good food, sunshine, and smooth drinks. One day was spent at the cabana pool side. Another day was sightseeing (I saw an Andy Warhol/modern art exhibit at the Bellagio) and at Harrah's Carnival Court bar (be sure to stop there if you ever go to Vegas). We ate at Rum Jungle and Maggiano's (yay for fun singing waiters!). Of course we danced the night away too.

It was really a perfect trip. I am so happy for Sarah and Chris. It was great to have a trip with friends I don't see too often. Sarah's wedding will be a future posting, but for now, here are a few highlights from Vegas baby. Vegas.

WOW! Has it been that long? I must apologize for not keeping you up to date. In my defense, I have been traveling quite a bit. I hope to update you (with photos of course) of all my travels. Here is a brief list of where I have been since Houston for 4th of July:

Las Vegas (bachelorette party)
Rochester (bridal shower and bachelorette party)
Boston/Danvers/Gloucester (Sarah's wedding)
Atlanta (Ashwin's wedding)
Rochester (Krishna's wedding)
Upper Peninsula ("you-pee") of Michigan (birthday celebration for James)

Needless to say, good time were had by all. I am very blessed to have loving friends and family to visit and share some adventures with.

With all that said, I am grateful to be staying put until Thanksgiving.

What else has been going on? I got a part-time job at the local pet store, Preuss Pets. They are a locally-owned shop with an impressive fish department. I am learning so much from my co-workers in the salt water department. I am only there on Sundays, which makes it tough to keep up the learning curve. Some day I hope to return to the world of the aquatics and I hope I am making the right choice by putting my time in at Preuss.

My first session at the YMCA comes to an end this week. My class members were the best and made my first (paid) teaching experience an amazing one! I have another session lined up, which will take me to Christmas time. Whenever I sub for spinning at MSU, students/participants come up to me and ask when I teach. Unfortunately, I only substitute. I hope I can have my own class in the spring. If I do, I need to make up a million more routines! Please let me know if you have any song recommendations that would be good for spinning.

Check back soon for some photos of my trips!
