Dear Reader-of-Mollie's-Blog,
If you're like me, you do what you can to help the environment in your day to day life. You give to groups like Environmental Action, you use energy efficient light bulbs, and probably walk, bike, or ride the bus to work. And that's a great start - but it needs to be more than just people like you and me that are doing their part. For us to stop something like global warming, we need everyone to do their part.
And how can we get that started? The answer may shock you. Wal-Mart. Every day Wal-Mart gets 18,000,000 customers - and that's just in the U.S. If we could convince Wal-Mart, on just one day, to give each of their customers a free energy efficient light bulb, the impact would be huge. We'd cut CO2 emissions by over 2.5 billion pounds - equivalent to taking 200,000 cars off the road.
Please take a second to tell Wal-Mart you'd like a green Christmas. Ask them to sponsor 'Free Energy Efficient Light Bulb Day' at their stores throughout the U.S. To send a message, click the link below, or paste it into your browser:

I know what you're thinking - Wal-Mart is going to help solve our global warming crisis? Well, not exactly - but, nobody else has access to so many people and could have such a large impact on the problem in just one day.
If successful, we'll see a significant decrease in CO2 emissions, and we'll have educated millions of people about the severity of the problem, as well as their role in solving it. If even 10% of the people who receive a free light bulb come back for more, it would start the kind of societal change we so desperately need.
If we're going to be environmentalists, and solve this problem, we need to get the message out far and wide - and Wal-Mart offers one of the best means of doing so. Please take a moment to send them a message - ask them for a Green Christmas.

We're working to get over 5,000 messages to Wal-Mart - that's much more than Environmental Action normally gets - so our success in this depends on you not only signing, but asking three friends to sign as well.
And thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Dan Stafford
