If you look over to the right, you'll see I have added 2 websites to my list of favorites. The first is "Save the Ta-Ta's" which supports breast cancer research with HILARIOUS shirts for men, women, and children. The other is the One Campaign, which is working to fight AIDS and poverty. One is also selling designer T-shirts starting in September.

Well, I just came home from Spartan Spirit 2006. It was a pep rally with the cheerleaders and marching band. A few teams (football, hockey, gymnastics, and womens basketball) had coaches say something and introduced a few players. (Watch out for womens basketball freshman Alissa. She's 6'9" and can dunk!) I went to learn the cheers and songs. There was a big raffle with a grandprize of a plane ticket to New Zealand. Usually I am so good at raffles! But no luck tonight. :(

Did I mention it was pouring rain? complete with thunder and lightening? The event was supposed to be in the football stadium, but last minute they switched it to the basketball building. But there were no signs, so I had to walk (sans umbrella) in the downpour for about 10 minutes cuz I wasn't quite sure where I was going. Once inside, I got a few coupons and flyers and found a seat by some blonde freshmen.

Can I say how impressed I am with the MSU marching band? They are amazing! About half of the band is incoming freshmen, and I can't imagine how hard they must have worked all summer. They obviously love MSU and enjoy mocking all the fans when we mess up the "wave." They also were quite lucky and had at least 7 people win prizes in the raffle.

So I learned a few simple cheers. (Go GREEN! GO WHITE!) (M! S! U!) But I wanted to learn the fight cheer and alma mater but they didn't have the words up on the jumbotron thing or in a hangout. So its still a mystery to me!

So maybe I'll go to a football game. I do know how to do a Spartan-jack now. :)

Today was my first day at my assistanceship. It was a pretty regular first day. I have lots of training to do since my job will be training others. The undergrads showed me around campus a bit too.

I am excited because I found a womens outdoor soccer team through Lansing Area Womens Soccer Club. Our first game is Sunday. I am on a team that will be "rebuilding." It will be nice to meet new people!
