It has been one busy summer here in Lansing. I became certified to teach Spinning programs through Mad Dogg Athletics. I was lucky enough to substitute teach 4 classes on campus while the regular instructor road his bike from Denver to Lansing over the course of 2 weeks. Scott raised almost $5,000 for local food banks. Cycling has allowed him to loose a ton of weight, gain confidence, and generally become happier (well, that is what his co-workers say). A few weeks ago, I interviewed to teach at a local YMCA. I have a follow up call this week to discuss availability, but I am excited about this opportunity.
The weekend after the tri, James and I visited my family in Rochester. It was great to see my cousin Shannon and her son, Taiga. My nephew was there too and he is getting so big! I also visited my grandparents, who are both recovering from broken hips. I guess when it rains, it pours! Another bonus to the trip was happy hour with the PHS crowd- Sara, Adam, Kristina, Geoff, and Krishna. I love these guys!
I took James to the George Eastman House to see some cool photography, but all the exhibits were closed. We did tour the house and walk the gardens. He also saw downtown Canandaigua and went to the shores of Canandaigua Lake. There was wine tasting too.
Here are some pix from the ROC trip:
