OK we all know I am not neccessarily the best driver, although I have improved over the years. So last weekend, on my way to class at 8:30am on a Saturday, I was pulled over. I was going 39 in a 25, according to the cop. I have never had a speeding ticket (I was pulled over once in NY, but got a warning). The cop gave me the ticket for 30 in a 25. I thought he was being nice, although I think I got a ticket and not a warning because of my NY plates. Today I called to find out what I am supposed to pay and it was freaking $145! For 5 over! What could I do? I gave the lady my credit card number as I started to feel nausous. Once I hung up, I started looking on Google to compare NY rates with MI. I found an article that told me not to pay it. That I should go to court and fight it. It said my insurance rates can go up. Great. This is why I miss public transportation. I never got a speeding ticket on the T.

Never plead guilty to a speeding ticket. I have experience, unfortunately. If you can plead not guilty, it'll reduce your violation and be a lesser fine, which also means less points on your license. . . 5 over! Thats SO lame. I was going to blog but dont have time now lol
