I am deeply saddened to report that Steve Irwin, the Australian Crocodile Hunter, has passed away. He was filming in the Great Barrier Reef when a sting ray's barbed tail punctured his heart. Steve had a profound impact on raising global conservation awareness through his work. A fund is being developed by The Discovery Channel to continue his efforts, and provide for his 2 children.
